WHY THE HECK DID HE SAY “THE TWO OF US” WHEN HE COULD’VE SIMPLY SAID “WE”

WHY DID HE SAY IT IN THAT FOND TONE WHY DID HE HAVE TO ELABORATE THAT IT WAS JUST THE TWO OF THEM WHO CARRIED SHIRO OUT WHY IS HE SMILING FONDLY AT THE MEMORY LIKE THAT WHY DID EVERYBODY EXPECT HIM TO GO AND COMFORT KEITH FIRST WHAT IS THE FUCKING EXPLANATION BEHIND ALL THIS I WANT TO KNOW OR ELSE I’LL FUCKING EXPLODE BECAUSE IT’S DRIVING ME FUCKING CRAZYYY

my point is: why do keith and lance behave differently around the other than around other people and are extra fond when they’re interacting with one another if they’re not (maybe subconsciously?) crushing on the other? because, logically speaking, i don’t think there’s another explanation.
just think about it: when do people start acting differently around a particular person? it’s either when they’re feeling uncomfortable around them, which is absolutely not klance’s case, or when they have a crush on them (and so they start adding unnecessary words and details when they’re talking to them and have softened expressions and stuff), which absolutely makes sense here.
in addition, the others knew that lance would be the best at approaching and talking to and comforting keith first, and this highlights two things: that lance is the best with words among them, offering the right, needed words at the right times with empathy and suited emotions, and just how close lance and keith have become, since, after shiro has disappeared, all of them were somehow aware that lance is the closest person to keith at this point, and that keith will definitely listen to what he has to say…
