People who still claim mansplaining is a thing are weak.

Nah it’s def a thing. It’s just that a lot of people cry “mansplaining” when it hasn’t happened far too often.

From what I understand, “mansplaining” is supposedly when a man explains something to a woman in a condescending manner.

So…. why don’t you just say that he’s being condescending? You don’t need to make up new gendered terms for something when we already have perfectly good non-gendered terms ready to go whenever.

It’s almost like the term “mansplaining” exists as a silencing tactic.

OH WAIT, THAT’S EXACTLY WHY IT EXISTS!

The options:

1: Confront him if he is being condescending. Maybe have a conversation about it later. Keep an open line of communication, and both of you may benefit from the experience, and things will go smoother for everyone you and him interacts with later down the line.

2: Ignore him. If you really do know more about the subject just do what you know is right. Find other sources to learn how to overcome the obstacle.

3: Passive-aggressively just take it and then complain about it and blame circumstances of birth on it so you can blog about how #perf you are while shutting out any chances to grow and learn as a person and help other people grow and learn as well. Create a situation where you turn an entire social activist movement into the butt of every joke at best and something to work against at worst. Be a petulant child about it and make things worse for everyone and wall yourself off in a defensive tactic while the rest of the world goes on and you just become bitter and reclusive and your performance and advancement in life and your ability to learn from experiences and the free flow of ideas with others in your field will be stifled.

Depending on the circumstances I honestly like options 1 or 2.

I’m over here dying to have a wife and straight men are still making “marriage ruined my life” jokes. Like? Buddy? First of all that’s never been funny. Second, if you don’t want your wife I’ll take her

if ppl joke about marriage ruining whatever… bro, you shouldn’t have gotten married and your wife deserves more.

I find myself having to ask this question constantly but as a straight dude am I allowed to reblog this because I relate so hard

Absolutely! I wrote this from a lesbian perspective but I think it’s great that there’s straight guys who can relate. Cherishing your partner should be a universal thing

corporate marketing exec: so, what are the kids into these days, eating tide pods? frogs?

me, scrolling frantically through the data: ma’am, apparently it’s “loving and cherishing your life partner of any gender”
