parents not believing their disabled child is actually disabled and forcing them to go beyond their limits is abuse.

parents calling their disabled kid a burden or a problem to them is abuse

parents using the disabled kids story to their advantage and making it more about themselves is abuse.

stop excusing abuse just because the victim is disabled.

okay, but captain carswell thorne.

everyone always looks past this angel, but thorne:

-offered his ship when he found out cinder was escaping

-wasn’t scared of cinder when he found out she was lunar. sure, he was surprised, but he got right back on track after and treated cinder exactly the same

-got bitten by a fucking crazy wolf man and didn’t show his pain so cinder wouldn’t freak out

-in fact, downplayed his injuries the entire series. after going blind, he didn’t complain much and trusted cress to be his eyes. when he was being controlled by levana and about to fall to his death, he kept his panic in control

-was so sure that cress deserved better that he tried convincing her that he wasn’t a hero, and later decided to become that hero, the one that cress could always see in him

-kept the mood light even in the middle of planning something that almost meant certain death and cracked jokes whenever he could

-convinced iko that she was beautiful and then- blindly, might i add- won her a body in which she felt gorgeous and alive

don’t argue with me about this. captain carswell thorne is a HERO.

i love pidge so much because on the one hand she’s a badass paladin who hacked into government computers on multiple occasions and killed a man like, five episodes into the show, but on the other hand she’s an awkward teenager and when allura tried to talk to her she immediately started talking about how sweaty she is
