AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO WANTS KOKORO AND MITSURU’S OLD MEMORIES TO RETURN?

At the end of Ep 23, I was really happy that they got back together again. But, at the same time I’m really sad about it. Why? What if their child one day would ask how they met.

I can imagine kokoro say to this to their child:

“It’s hard to explain because that was a long time ago, but your father was a fine man. He told me that he loved me because I was different, and I understood him. The way I also understands him. Even if our memories were blurry we still loved each other. But we really are just squad mates back then, that’s all there is to it”

I can imagine Mitsuru holding her hand after what she said to their child.

After their child left the room, Kokoro was in tears then Mitsuru hugged her and kissed her forehead.

Still holding on to her tightly, not wanting to let go.

Still trying to regain those lost memories.

That will never return.
