About the shooting in Santa Fe

As someone who lives in Texas,

as someone who was taking her AP test while the shooting happened,

as someone whose school is 30 MINUTES away from Santa Fe,

I know damn well that I could’ve been one of the people dead if it happened at my school.

I know damn well my friends could’ve been one of the ones shot.

We need gun control.

We need better background checks.

We need to make it so guns aren’t so readily available to people who intend harm.

No more people, let alone kids, should ever die from a mass shooting.
