Honestly the latest episode can just be everyone (Zero Two, Hiro and Ichigo especially) making bad and not very well thought decisions with good intentions.

Zero Two beat the crap out of the gang because she wanted to see Hiro and thought they had deliberately lied to her. In that moment, she broke the trust and was seen as a monster by the one person that she wanted to be human for. All she wanted to do was see and talk to him.

Hiro left his room without telling anyone. This lead to Zero Two beating up the squad in anger and Zero Two having believed that the gang lied to her. He just wanted to talk to Zero Two and see her. Had he never left his room, he would have been able to see her.

Ichigo made the final call to have Zero Two removed from the squad. After all the events that have happened, it reasonable to expect others to be wary of Zero Two and not want to work with or around her, especially when she almost kills one of your friends that she herself considers her darling. She wanted to keep Hiro safe by forbidding him and Zero Two from seeing each other.

The gang didn’t speak up on this being a potentially bad decision until they discussed it again and allows Zero Two to see Hiro (who wasn’t in his room and none of them knew because he didn’t tell anyone because they forbid it).

This was effectively a communications break down combined with good intentions. This is why they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. None of them had bad intentions with the choices they made, however, their choices had unintended, unaccounted for, negative consequences.

Tldr: The road to hell is paved with good intentions and boy these kids are on the road to hell.
