When I watch darling in the franxx one thing I cannot but help noticed is that we don’t know much about zero twos past at all, we only know she has klaxosaur blood and she became an ape special force but I keep wondering why does she want to find a man and why did she know hiro was her darling even though she usually never cares about anyone and what did she mean by i thought things could work out with you in episode 4 there’s so much we still don’t know much about her.

There’s no doubt that it will be reveal, but I rather it sooner than later. Meanwhile, there is something that can be a clue:

That’s Zero Two’s hand alright. But is the other hand Hiro’s? I hope so. Maybe they met when they were young, but he just forgot somehow. Maybe it’s some other child. This might be a little hint for her past.

Maybe the reason why she wants to find a man is as simple as it sounds, so that she won’t be lonely. Zero Two has a lack of empathy, but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t feel any emotion. Sometimes she does and just chooses not to express it. With that in mind, Zero Two’s search for a man who would stay beside her and support her becomes…self-explanatory. Everyone needs to have somewhere, someone to lean on, even icy dinosaur girls.
