So let’s talk real quick on Chise & Elias and how mentally ill they are, how Yamazaki shows it correctly, and how both of them are becoming healthy now and on their way to a healthy relationship.

MANGA SPOILERS, but the anime will be caught up in like an episode so lmao. Disclaimer too, Im still kinda sick so yeah, may be meh.

 Let’s begin with Chise, because I myself can relate as I’m sure many of you can. It is obvious she is co-dependent, right from the beginning as we learn why she sold herself and as she interacts with Elias. She has no self-esteem, respect, anxiety, depression, and can’t say no to anybody who wants her help. It goes hand in and hand with her External Validation Seeking ways. She’s always trying to doing what someone asks to make THEM happy, never caring about herself, even when it ACCELERATES HER SLEIGH BEGGY CURSE. Another big thing out of this comes her fear of abandonment, constantly she talks  about how she has to do things to keep her own weight around the house, and when she messes up or BELIEVES she has messed up, she instantly thinks Elias will kick her out.
