Lol, it’d be ridiculous and kind of hilarious if KyoAni decided to kill off Gilbert for the sake of “making the story more mature”, like Ishidate said they were trying to do during some interviews.
If not, then they’ll probably stick to the romance route. But even that would fail because they’re unintentionally turning Gilbert into a monster by changing the plot and Violet’s character so much.
Either way would be a major disappointment, so I’m just gonna be here at the back eating popcorn and watching hell come to earth.
Directly, he really wasn’t. There are very few chapters in his POV. But there are even less in Violet’s, so that’s not what should count to make a judgement on his revelance. The novel is centered around Violet, whose life is centered around Gilbert. He’s the second main character, the deuteragonist, and the literal most important person for the protagonist. He’s a damn huge part of the novel.
