I’m not the biggest Yatori shipper but I thought I’d defend the ship from a common anti-Yatori argument I’ve seen going around:

“Ewww Yato is like hundreds of years old, Yatori is pedophilia”

Err… Are we really going to hold human/God relationships to the same standard as human/human relationships? Due to their nature, Gods are bound to be older than humans 99% of the time. And still, relationships between Gods and humans is actually a thing in religion (Greek mythology is a great example of that).

Hiyori is 15 at the start of the series, if she were to date a 15-year-old Yato, guess what he would look like:

Also, would the same argument apply to Regalias, as some of them are also way older than humans? Take Suzuha. He fell in love with Tomoko when she was a teenager, but Suzuha was always older than her. And what about Regalia/Regalia relationships? Some people, myself included, would like Yukine/Nana to be a thing (mainly because they’re both Hafuri and look the same age), however, Nana is probably ancient compared to Yukine. Would that be a bad thing too? And what about Hiyori/Yukine when Hiyori is 20? Would it be wrong because Yukine would be a minor or would we consider him a 19 year old?

What I’m trying to say is that, when it comes to beings that have the potential to live for so many years, the things that should be taken into consideration when falling in love are personality and physical appearance (after all, people are usually more attracted to those who look closer to their age). So no, sorry, but Yatori is not pedophilia.
